CES 2008 is approaching fast and a lot of companies are already making some "pre-emptive" announcements regarding the products they intend to unveil at the world's most impressive CE-related show. One of the respective firms is Digital Foci (a manufacturer of various digital-photography related products), who has just announced an update to its line of Image Moments digital photo frames that consists of 6-inch, 8-inch and 15-inch models.

The Image Moments 15 features a 15-inch high-resolution XGA (1024x768) digital LCD screen with 16.2 million colors and a high contrast ratio of 700:1. On the other hand, the Image Moments 8 sports an 8-inch high-resolution SVGA (800x600) digital LCD screen with 500:1 contrast ratio. Both models feature Digital Foci's proprietary Adapter Ring design that supports limitless custom framing options, even the user's own custom creation.

The Image Moments 6 displays photos on its 5.7-inch VGA (640x480) digital LCD screen with what the company touts to be the highest pixel density available on the market (although the truth behind this statement is debatable). The frame also features leading technology LCD with LED backlight, which provides deeper color pallet reproduction over previous technologies, and uses environmentally friendly materials with lower power consumption design.

Moreover, all the Image Moments digital frames feature a "Photo Slideshow Mode," which automatically displays the photos with options for random photo play, transition effects, and slideshow intervals. The devices also provide some pretty interesting file management features, including here the possibility to copy, rename, delete files, sort files by name or date, and create new folders. One can also create, edit, and sequence multiple playlists on Image Moments and select a specific playlist to playback.

The new digital frames from Digital Foci come packed with 200MB of internal memory, so they can be used for storing up to 1,500 photos. Photos can be copied directly into the internal memory from any memory card one places in the device's memory card slot, completely eliminating the need for a computer.

For additional memory, photos can be viewed from all popular memory cards, CompactFlash, MicroDrive, SD/HC card, MMC, Memory Stick, MS PRO, xD-Picture Card, and even MS Duo/MS PRO Duo, directly without the need of an adapter. For those who wish to transfer photos back and forth from the computer to the Image Moments, there's also a USB slot to support computer connection.

The Image Moments 15, 8 and 6 have MSRPs of around 400, 200 and 150 US dollars, respectively, but we'll have to wait until March 2008 in order to see exactly the street prices they'll be available for.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
