Sex scenes in GTA: San Andreas are going to bring you some money

Strange things happen, that is a proven fact. And if you would like to disagree with the previous statement, we have another proof for you, coming straight from Rockstar, a company that is no stranger to lawsuits and big huge game scandals. They are known to defend their games (duh!) like any other developer would. Still, strange things can happen.

For instance, those people who were offended by the sex scenes from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas can now apply and receive some money back (up to $35, to be more specific). And I have nothing against that, for now, since it seems that the game should have been rated AO for Adults Only and not M for Mature. Whatever.

The interesting thing regarding this, and what really manages to shock me is the fact that this whole decision sounds more like a bad joke than anything else. Because, as you probably know already, this whole "Hot Coffee" stuff wasn't actually available to the gamers - it was just a code left there by developers, found by some computer geeks and combined to display "scenes of a sexual nature". And it was available for download. So... don't you consider this strange? Since it basically means: "I buy the game, I download the content, I play, I get offended, then they pay me back". Where's the logic, really?

Anyway, that is not up to me. But if you want to enter the "program" and get some money back, you have to agree to a few statements: first of all, you should promise that you've bought the game before the 20th of July, 2005 and you were "offended and upset" by it. Then, you should say that you wouldn't have purchased GTA: San Andreas if you would've known about the mod and would have returned it if you had known. (As a side note - I am curious how many people DID return their game disc after the release of Hot Coffee).

So, if you meet the requirements, you are entitled to receive the following: Replacement disc if you have the First Edition, cash payment up to $5 if you provide no disc/purchase details, $10 if you provide disc/purchase details, $17.50 if you have a general credit card statement or check and up to $35 if you have a detailed store receipt.
