Dianna Agron was the only (former) cast member from “Glee” who did not make an appearance on the season 5 premiere episode, which was dedicated to the late leading man Cory Monteith, who died this summer of a drug and alcohol OD.

Before the heartbreaking tribute episode aired, there was a lot of speculation that Agron had been left out because series creator Ryan Murphy and leading girl Lea Michele, who played Monteith’s love interest and was also his girlfriend in real life, had a profound dislike of her and didn’t want her to be part of this special moment.

In a new interview cited by the Daily Mail, Agron hints that she was deliberately left out and, while she doesn’t name any names or speak evil of anyone on the show, she says out loud that she was very hurt about it. Dealing with Cory’s death would have been much easier if she’d been given the chance to mourn him with his “Glee” family.

“Bad news spreads faster than anything good. And I think it's just such a shame, especially involving someone that we love so much, that the good old internet has taken everything that they want to say about it and spread it like wildfire,” Dianna says of the rumors that she was “snubbed” by Murphy and Michele for the memorial episode.

“So I've nothing but love for that show and everybody involved in it and it was such a huge part of my life, so I think it's equally hard when I'm not there every day anymore, I don't see all of them every day anymore to have things like this fly around,” she continues.

However, that’s not to say she doesn’t wish things had played out differently. Everyone else on “Glee” got the chance to deal with the pain of losing Cory together, except for her.

“It's more heartbreaking than it would be if I was there with everybody. It makes me feel even farther away from our show. With those people it was the perfect mix of everything I needed to prepare me for everything else. We cut our teeth on that show, and it's always going to be so special because of that,” Dianna explains.

Most fans of the series agree that she should have been asked back for the Monteith memorial episode and that it was a nasty thing for producers to do to leave her out of it.
