As part of its new refresher course on the classes of Diablo III, Blizzard has just unveiled a video and some new details about the Monk character class that will be present in the upcoming dungeon crawling RPG.

Diablo III is certainly one of the most awaited experiences of the year and fans are getting close to its release date of May 15, after enduring many years of development and quite a few delays.

In order to make this final wait more bearable, developer Blizzard has unveiled various videos that showcased the RPG’s different classes.

We’ve already admired the Demon Hunter and the Barbarian in the last few weeks, as the studio has presented videos and details about each of them.

Now, it’s time for the mysterious Monk to get his own trailer, showing off not just his origins but also plenty of gameplay.

Alongside the footage that you can enjoy below, the studio also posted a fresh description for the character, highlighting its strengths, its preferred fighting styles, and their weapons.

"Monks are sacred warriors who channel divine power through sheer force of will. Healing waves, mantras of protection and attacks empowered with holy might are all within their purview. Skilled monks deliver rapid-fire attacks unarmed or with a variety of well-balanced weapons. In combat, they emphasize high maneuverability over staying power, darting in and out of melees and avoiding protracted slugfests.”

"Monks' attacks are primarily melee-focused. They can eliminate single foes with extreme damage, or deliver short-range area-of-effect assaults with waves of elemental power that emanate from palm strikes or crescent kicks."

Blizzard also posted two older developer diary videos earlier this week, so you can bet that we’ll get to learn more about its upcoming dungeon crawler through more trailers in the near future, before its release for the PC and Mac platforms on May 15.
