14 DAY TRIAL // Blizzard Entertainment has announced the exclusive PlayStation content that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will have on the PS3 and PS4 platforms, when it launches on August 19.
Diablo 3 is finally bringing the Reaper of Souls expansion to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms, and also delivering the action role-playing game for the first time to next-gen consoles, the Xbox One home entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony.
The Reaper of Souls expansions introduces an entire new act for players to explore, as well as a brand-new class for gamers to take into the fray, the Crusader.
The official PlayStation Blog informs that players who decide to take the fight for Sanctuary to big screens on Sony's consoles will get to enjoy some exclusive content based on two other popular PlayStation games.
The first of the exclusive offerings is a crossover with Naughty Dog's award winning survival adventure, The Last of Us, in the form of a unique Nephalem Rift, where players will be challenged to endure and survive the infected onslaught.
The unique rift will feature hand-picked environments from the Diablo 3 universe and a foreboding yellow spore effect that will surely make The Last of Us survivors uneasy. In addition to the visual effect, the dungeon will also be crawling with a horde of ravenous creatures modeled after the iconic Stalker, Clicker and Bloater infected from Naughty Dog's adventure title.
In addition to featuring Naughty Dog's infamous infected, Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 will also pay homage to the acclaimed giant-slaying game, by offering players the "Guise of the Colossi," a unique set of transmogrification plans that unlock six custom armor appearances, inspired by the PlayStation 2 hit game Shadow of the Colossus.
The Guise of the Colossi transmogrification set will be available to all six classes. The devs have also noted that none of the exclusive content is transferable in any way to other platforms and will require players to connect to the PlayStation Network to redeem.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition is coming out on August 19, for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
Characters from the PlayStation 3 edition of Diablo 3 will be transferable to either the PS3 or the PS4 version of Ultimate Evil, and in a similar fashion, Xbox 360 chars will be able to make the jump to either the Xbox One or Xbox 360 version of Ultimate Evil Edition.
