Video game developer Blizzard announces that its upcoming Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 will introduce a new Artisan, named Myriam Jahzia, who will be able to help the player in his quest to rid the world of evil.

The team explains on the official site that, "Myriam Jahzia is a wise woman who will offer you sage advice during the turbulent times ahead. She and her clan are nomads known as the Vecin—a spiritual people, blessed with magical visions."

The society is matriarchal and Myriam has very strong visions, which power her ability to craft and change items in order to give gamers better tools for the fight.

Blizzard adds, "Myriam has learned to harness her craft, and as thanks for rescuing her from Malthael’s vicious constructs, she offers two unique services to aid you on your mission: one that strengthens and enhances your items (Enchanting), and one that allows you to further customize your appearance (Transmogrification)."

Enchanting allows gamers to reroll one property for a Rare or Legendary item at a time, as long as they are able to pay a cost.

This allows players to make sure that their best equipment remains relevant even as they progress in the Reaper of Souls expansion, eliminating a leveling up issue that was problematic in Diablo 3.

Transmogrification is even more interesting because it gives players a simple way of choosing the look of their items and making sure that they all match.

For all Common, Magic and Rare items, the appearance changes will be unlocked with Myriam as she levels up.

Legendary and Set item appearances will be open to modify once the player finds them in Reaper of Souls and identifies them.

The new expansion for Diablo 3 will be launched on the PC and on the PlayStation 4 in 2014.
