The team answers a number of questions from the community

The development team at Blizzard is determined to make sure that fans of Diablo 3 have all the details they need before the launch of the Reaper of Souls expansion and the focus of the most recent information dump is the new Crusader class.

The company has selected a wide-ranging set of questions coming from the player community and has then recruited both Brian Kindregan, the lead writer working on the game, and Justin Parker, who is the official historian at the company, to answer them.

The official site starts by offering an overview of the Crusader, and explaining his weapon of choice by saying that, “A heavily armored, deeply driven warrior is traditionally depicted with a flail or mace. Maces generally learn towards the clergymen or clerical type of character, and the Crusader definitely leans more towards the martial side of things. Plus, they’re just awesome!”

There is also information about the way Crusaders are different from the Paladins who are more often part of fantasy lore and more information on the motives that drive them throughout Reaper of Souls.

Blizzard adds, “Crusaders generally recruit their apprentices in the wilderness or working-class parts of a city. When they identify a child who exhibits talent with the Light, they often negotiate with the child’s family to start the apprenticeship. Rich families are less likely to initiate their children into such endeavors, so Crusaders usually come from peasant or lower class families.”

There are plenty more answers from the studio on the official site, including info on Paladin reaction, lice, secularization in the world of Diablo 3 and more.

Reaper of Souls will be launched on both the PC and the Mac on March 25 and until then, those who play the game on the two platforms are able to enjoy a 50 percent experience bonus that’s designed to allow them to level up their Paragon rank and uncover some cool loot.

A version of the new Diablo 3 expansion is also set to be launched on next-gen and current-gen consoles, but no official dates have yet been announced.

Blizzard will probably deliver at some point before the end of 2014, as long as it manages to make sure that the console experience matches that on the PC.

Reaper of Souls includes new areas to explore, tougher bosses and a wide variety of new enemies that will test the skills of even the most experienced players.
