Blizzard announces that it is planning to introduce a massively different version of the Paragon system in the coming 2.0.1 patch for Diablo 3, designed to enhance the player experience and give the community one more reason to play the Reaper of Souls expansion.

The team has decided to eliminate the level cap for Paragons and to make all experience earned shared between all characters that use one difficulty level.

The company explains on the official blog that, "We want players to have fun with the game, to experiment with different classes, and to feel rewarded for their time investment, regardless of what hero they’re playing. We also want everyone to fully enjoy the new content coming in Reaper of Souls—including the Crusader class—without feeling as though they’ve 'wasted Paragon levels' on a previous hero."

Finally the rewards for Paragon levels have been changed in order to make them more flexible, allowing gamers to upgrade a variety of starts for their characters.

This means that gamers will have more control over the way their heroes evolve and that Diablo 3 will offer a more complex long term experience.

Blizzard explains, "By the time you reach Paragon 800, you will have maxed the number of points that can be allocated to the Offensive, Defensive, and Utility categories and all future Paragon levels you earn going forward will grant you a Paragon Point in the Core stat category instead."

The studio says that the transition between the old and the new Paragon system will be seamless and will allow even dead Hardcore characters to contribute their experience to the new point system.

Patch 2.0.1 for Diablo 3 will also introduce a number of other modifications to the game and players will also get to use Battle.net instead of the classic launcher, after undergoing an optimization process.
