The studio doesn't want any problems for its loyal players

Blizzard has continued to discuss the legendary drop rate with Diablo 3 owners, emphasizing that it's constantly checking for problems and errors when it comes to the loot earned by players and that the random nature of the system is prone to making some people feel like they have bad luck.

Diablo 3 launched back in 2012, and earlier this year it received its first big expansion, in the form of Reaper of Souls, which brought forth a wide variety of new content, from a fresh character class to the Adventure mode and plenty of fresh loot for players to earn.

After the free patch 2.0.1, which included the Loot 2.0 system that ensured more and better legendary items would be won by players, Blizzard also implemented a 100% increase after the very successful anniversary buff, so that players keep on enjoying the RPG and gaining better loot.

Even so, accusations from users against Blizzard have appeared rather often, as some players believe the studio is messing with the legendary drop rate to their own detriment.

The studio denied these accusations yesterday and now, in the wake of even more debates, offered another statement saying that it constantly monitors and investigates problems with the loot system in order to avoid any issues for the regular players.

"In this case, we have investigated multiple times into drop rates to make sure they are working as they should. We have tested and retested. The results have come back consistently in each instance - drop rates are where they are supposed to be, and haven't been changed since the implementation of the Community Buff for the 2nd Anniversary," a representative said on Battle.net.

The studio also emphasized that at the heart of the loot system is a random number generator (RNG) and, in some cases, its results may not be that great for players, but it's working as intended.

"RNG, being inherently random in nature and definition, is something that's easy to mistake as working inconsistently. That's the nature of the beast. What I can do is reassure you that we've done everything we can (and more) on our end to make sure it's working the way it should."

After the success of the community buff, Blizzard has pledged to bring more special events and bonuses for Diablo 3 players, not to mention long-awaited updates, like patch 2.1.0 that promises to fix plenty of old issues.
