Blizzard will wait until the current Season is done

Video game developer Blizzard is ready to confirm that it has managed to identify a major bug associated with Diablo 3, and says that the issue will be further investigated by the Quality Assurance division of the studio. However, it seems that the bug will take some time to fix to the satisfaction of the community.

At the moment, the area damage element of the game is not properly affected by some of the skills and unique powers that a character can use at different times in the game.

This basically means that some class builds are less powerful than others, and that is a big bug for a video game that gives players so much freedom but also promises that all creations have clear advantages.

The announcement was made in an official forum post on Battle.net, which comes after a long thread in which members of the community have offered proof about the problem.

Blizzard adds, "We're holding off on sweeping changes for the time being as we're reviewing the mechanics of Area Damage as a whole, and we want to avoid introducing sweeping changes in the middle of a Season. As a result, changes to Area Damage will not be coming in Patch 2.2.1, but at a later date."

It's unclear whether the particular instances of area damage not working properly mentioned in the thread represent the full extent of the problem or not.

Diablo 3 continues to evolve between seasons

Blizzard has managed to guide the development of its action RPG in some interesting directions, especially given the ire that the Auction House feature attracted initially.

Hardcore fans are currently loving the Season concept, and the rewards that come associated with it, and the company needs to gather data and deploy all its patches in the downtime between them.

Rumors are also saying that Blizzard is getting ready to talk officially about another expansion for Diablo 3.

Apparently, the plan is to add another character class and to deliver a new big environment for gamers to explore.

The studio is also aiming to make more tweaks to the Season concept and to find a new way to draw in players who have abandoned Diablo 3 soon after it was launched.
