Diablo 3 Fans Uncover Mentions of PvP Mode in Patch 1.05

Update 1.05 brings an array of new features to Diablo 3 and, according to some clever fans, it also sets the stage for the long-awaited patch 1.1., which is set to bring the much-promised Player-versus-Player competitive mode to the dungeon crawling RPG.

Diablo 3 has received a variety of patches since its release in May but fans are still eagerly awaiting the arrival of the PvP mode that was delayed right before the launch of the RPG.

While patch 1.05 still doesn’t bring this mode, it includes many references to it, at least according to a variety of data mined by members of the Diablofans forum.

According to a massive post, the upcoming update, which can now be tried out by regular players on a public test realm, mentions different mechanics that will be employed by the PvP mode.

First up, it seems that four different arenas will be set up for player-versus-player matches: The Fetid Pools, Pit of the Condemned, Bastion’s Forge, and Alter of Courage.

Players can engage in either Deathmatch games or in Team Deathmatch ones, the latter of which pitting against one another two teams of four characters.

In exchange for their PvP exploits, players are rewarded with gold, experience and new PvP tokens that can be redeemed for new items at Gryffith the Warmaster, a new NPC located at New Tristram’s Slaughtered Calf Inn.
