Paula Deen's racist comments have opened a Pandora's box. And whatever was hidden inside this box seems determined to ruin the celebrity chef's career in the public eye.

Not long after Walmart and Caesars announced that they no longer wanted anything to do with Paula Deen, diabetes drug maker Novo Nordisk decided that it would be best for both the company and the celebrity chef herself if they were to part ways.

To put it in a nutshell: Paula Deen is no longer a spokesperson for Novo Nordisk and their “Diabetes in a New Light” campaign.

“Right now we’re letting her focus on what she needs to do, which is how she’s rebuilding her relationship with the public,” Novo Nordisk spokesman Ken Inchausti explained in a statement.

According to TMZ, Paula Deen did not put up a fight, and more or less wholeheartedly accepted the fact that, at least for a while, she would no longer get to tell people all about the virtues of Novo Nordisk's diabetes drug Victoza.
