Valhalla Game Studios, the Japanese developer that’s currently working on Devil’s Third, has revealed that the franchise will be a multimedia one, as the company is trying to make things like manga, novels, animated videos or films based on it.

The development of Devil’s Third hasn’t exactly been the smoothest, as Valhalla Studios, led by famous Japanese designer Tomonobu Itagaki, was forced to spend quite a lot of money after a collaborator went bankrupt.

This led publisher THQ, which was also in dire financial problems, to sell back the publishing rights to the developer in a deal that was announced last week.

Now, the Japanese studio has released a full statement about the transaction, emphasizing the cooperative nature of THQ.

"Valhalla Game Studios would like to announce that after negotiations with THQ Inc., and with their generous cooperation, both parties have reached an agreement whereupon all rights related to the Devil's Third project, including development and distribution rights, have been transferred in full from THQ to Valhalla Game Studios," said the statement.

What’s more, the CEO of the developer, Satoshi Kanematsu, revealed that Devil’s Third wouldn’t be just a video game, as the studio plans to release different types of media based on it, including manga and comic books, as well as novels and various animated projects, whether they’re short videos or actual films.

"In addition to the home console and PC versions, we at Valhalla Game Studios intend to bring the Devil's Third universe to a wide range of digital devices. We are also looking beyond the boundaries of video games and plan to work with other various forms of media, including manga, novels, animation and film, to create a blockbuster franchise."

As of yet, however, Valhalla is still searching for a publisher in order to release the game as soon as possible.
