The search giant announced last week that the company will host Google Developer Day on May 31, confirming its plans to introduce the event at the same time in no more than 10 locations. Among other countries, Google will host the conference in Sao Paulo, Brasil, London, United Kindgom or Hamburg, Deutschland. As you know, the search giant released a separate page for the event, allowing all interested developers to register for Google Developer Day and take part in the conference. Today, Andrew Bowers, Google Developer Programs, posted a message on the official blog of the company to announce an expansion of the conference and sustain that it managed to attract an impressive number of interested developers.

"Wow, what a response! We knew a few people would sign up for Google Developer Day, but not all in the first several hours. I'm really excited to see this much interest from around the world, and I personally can't wait to meet the folks coming to Mountain View. Since there has been so much interest, we've decided to expand a bit and add additional spots for the event. If you haven't signed up yet, please head on over to the registration site and sign up now," the Google employee sustained on the official blog.

As I said one week ago, the Google Developer Conference is very similar to the one hosted by Apple that is now scheduled for June 11-15. Both events have the same target and are meant to attract developers and present the latest innovations and products. As you know, this year's WWDC might reveal the next version of Mac OSX, codenamed Leopard, and even the upcoming iPhone, one of the most expected mobile devices. Maybe Google is preparing to launch a new solution and to release it at the upcoming conference?
