It might look overwhelming though

One of the most expected new MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) of the following year is, without a doubt, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The game is based on BioWare's very popular offline RPG franchise the Knights of The Old Republic, titles which had their actions placed before any other Star Wars game.

Although it was speculated for quite some time, it was only recently that the official confirmation that the game was in development was made. Star Wars: The Old Republic is the result of a partnership between Electronic Arts and its studio, BioWare, and LucasArts, the owners of the Star Wars IP (Intellectual Property). This big team stated on several occasions that this game would be huge, and that it might defeat the current most played MMORPG, World of Warcraft.

Tom Nichols, a LucasArts executive, has recently spoken with VG247 and commented on the development stage of the game. He went on saying that, although the amount of work did seem overwhelming, the team was aware of the big opportunity and potential of the game and was determined to work hard in order for the gamers to receive a quality title.

"I’m optimistic. I think it’s a huge opportunity for us, and for BioWare and EA. It is, in a sense, overwhelming sometimes when you think about it, when you think about the amount of work that we have to do, and the amount of content that we’re building, all the things you have to have in place to successfully launch a large-scale MMO: that’s a lot of work, absolutely. But we’re all looking forward to the challenge."

It's really nice to see that developers aren't thrown off by the sheer amount of work they have to do and strive to give players the best experience possible. Let's just hope that this game will set a new benchmark in regard to quality and gameplay for a Star Wars title.
