There will be no lead development platform for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, according to David Anfossi, the producer of the game. The developers are promising that there will be no difference between the versions of the game so that customers can enjoy the title as it was intended, regardless of device they own.

In an interview with VG247, Anfossi said that, “The experience will be the same on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The same mechanics – everything is the same. I used to work on previous games where we had lead platforms, and when we were close to the release date, we had to do a port. And believe me, you don’t want to do that. For Deus Ex, we decided to work on all platforms in parallel to give players the same experience. ”

Anfossi went on to comment that his team wanted to make the vocal and loyal fanbase of the first installment in the series happy, keeping a close relationship with between the two titles. “We just decided to respect the source material because we think of that when we think of Deus Ex fans. We replayed the original games to make sure we didn’t miss anything. It’s not a question of strategy or marketing or anything.”

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a prequel set 25 years before the original game in the series, following the adventures of Adam Jensen that lead to the formation of the UNATCO force from Deus Ex. The title carries over the franchise-specific themes of cyberpunk conspiracy and the consequences of the artificial improvements of human characteristics. This time around, nano-technology is not yet fully developed, so humanity is still using bio-mechanical augmentation, opening up a whole new set of gameplay possibilities. Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be launched at the beginning of 2011 on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.
