According to the latest news on the Web, the next LG phone to hit the United States market through Verizon Wireless is the LG VX8360. As Verizon states, this clamshell will be a “Bluetooth music phone” that will come as the successor of the older VX8350, a device currently priced at $49.99. The new handset features a sleek design and is able to offer quite a range of entertainment options, including download and playback options for music, as well as a 1.3MP camera.

The LG VX8360 is expected to feature a 2-inch TFT internal display that delivers a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and supports 262K colors. In addition, the handset also has a 1.17-inch TFT external display that provides a 96 x 96 pixel resolution and 65K colors. The 1.3-megapixel camera is able to offer a 1280x960 pixel resolution, video recording capabilities and self timer, as well as color effects.

The phone also sports high-speed EVDO connectivity, and its multimedia capabilities include a music player that features external controls as well as dual speaker and stereo sound. Moreover, the LG VX8360 comes with VZ Navigator and dashboard with Mobile Web and offers support for microSD memory cards of up to 8GB.

The Bluetooth provides support for a range of profiles, such as headset, handsfree, dial-up networking, stereo, phonebook access, basic printing, object push, file transfer and basic imaging. Supported frequencies include 1.9GHz and 800MHz CDMA.

The LG VX8360 measures only 3.64 in x 1.91 in x 0.78 in and weighs no more than 3.35oz. The battery is said to offer up to 314 minutes of talk time or up to 641 hours of standby time. The price of the phone is expected to be of $49.99 as well, yet, only after a $50 mail-in rebate and the inking of a two-year contract agreement. Considering its capabilities, the LG VX8360 is a rather good phone for that price range.
