14 DAY TRIAL // Despite singer T-Pain’s claims that his spilling the beans on Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs’ secret engagement had been an April Fools joke, various media outlets have confirmed the engagement. Details about the upcoming wedding have already emerged online.
It will be taking place this summer and chances are high it will be a very intimate and very unconventional ceremony, People magazine reports, citing unnamed sources close to the couple.
An unlikely celebrity romance, an unlikely celebrity wedding
In recent years, some celebrities have even started turning a profit from their wedding day, selling exclusive rights for the pictures and even staging (highly profitable) media tours ahead of the event.
Some stars, whose career depends on the amount of exposure they get, even make a point of offering the fans at home every detail of this very special and very private moment in life.
But not FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson. The two started dating about 8 months ago, and from day one, they strove to keep their relationship out of the tabloids. Because Pattinson’s association to the now-defunct “Twilight Saga,” in which he played eternally young and brooding vampire Edward Cullen, they had very little success with that.
Still, even though hounded by the paparazzi, the two never openly and directly discussed their private lives in interviews. Their wedding will be no different, with sources telling the mag that Twigs would like “something quite informal, like a pub wedding.”
Apparently, Robert’s parents would love something a bit more formal and traditional, including at least a church ceremony. The source doesn’t mention a thing about their odds of imposing their views on the couple.
Robert and Twigs set this summer as a possible wedding date, but an exact date is not known just yet. The plans too are far from “definite,” the insider continues, crediting Twigs for making Robert “much more calm and happy” than he’s been in years.
Robert Pattinson and the Kristen Stewart romance
That last part is probably a not-so-subtle jab at his previous girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, who starred with him in “Twilight” as his love interest. The two are believed to have started dating during the production of the first movie, which came out in 2008, but it took them years to finally go public.
Shortly after they did, she was photographed making out in a parking lot with Rupert Sanders, who had directed her in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” As the scandal died down, Robert gave their romance another chance and they reconciled, only to break up for good in 2013, after they were done promoting the last film in the “Twilight” franchise.
Rumor has it that Kristen broke Robert’s heart by cheating on him, with friends fearing he might never recover. Luckily, FKA Twigs came into the picture, and from what we’re hearing, things couldn’t be better between them.
