Only for Australia

The search giant updates Google Earth periodically but now, the company improved it with a really attractive element: detailed roads for Australia. As you can see in the picture attached to the article, the result is really incredible because they provide a 3D view for numerous Australian roads included in the downloadable application. Recently, the search giant released a special Australian version of the online map solution, Google Maps, so it was just a matter of time until the company would improve the imagery included in the Earth program.

"Search for business names has also been activated although sorting by category names is not yet available. Google just has to enable its other layers (such as Dining, Lodging, Shopping) and we will be caught up with the rest of the world. They have also turned on the transportation layer which looks very neat with everything else turned off. In addition, it looks like they have added a couple of 3D buildings by default that people have created using Google Sketchup," Metroblogging Melbourne posted in a blog post.

For Australians, this update is quite an important one because it provides really impressive 3D imagery with the roads included in Google Earth. Although it would take years to create a similar feature for the entire world, this is just the beginning so we should expect for a new update soon. Remember the interoperability between Google SketchUp and Earth announced a few weeks ago?

At that time, it was also regarded as the most important improvement ever made so I hope the company plans even more exciting features in the future. It seems like this new ability of Google Earth is based on the SketchUp compatibility because this Google tool helps users design their own 3D drawings of building, streets and building and include it in the Earth program just like the images announced today.
