It's unclear how the team decides what he sells

Destiny is one of the most widely played titles in the shooter genre at the moment, but even months after launch some of its mechanics are still a mystery for the community, with a representative from the development team at Bungie now clarifying that the inventory that Xur brings with him each week is not generated randomly.

The information comes from a thread on the official forums where a player has posted a video in which Deej, the main community liaison, states this during a conversation.

The recording was made during a Bungie Bounty event but it’s unclear whether the Bungie employee was only offering his take on the Xur controversy or he was delivering official details.

Apparently, the sales are all planned by the developers, but there’s no information on the data they use to decide which items will be included.

The Destiny community has long complained that Xur does not offer those items they are interested in and urged the developers to make some changes to make his loadout more predictable in the long term.

Destiny will soon get more weapons, gear

The controversy around Xur will probably be solved only when the company offers a clear look at the way it decides what goes on sale.

But until then, gamers will be able to get access to a range of new gear for their Guardians when the House of Wolves expansion for Destiny is launched.

Bungie has not talked about its launch window but a leak says that it will be delivered in March and will introduce the same amount of content as The Dark Below, which means one late game raid, more strikes and an increased level cap.

The developers are claiming that none of the problems associated with the first expansion will be repeated and that there are also plans to introduce more hotfixes to better balance the social shooter.

Leaked information also suggests that an even bigger expansion for Destiny will arrive during the summer and will add new locations to explore and some bigger changes to the core mechanics.
