New players will enhance the experience for the community

Before Christmas, the development team at Bungie asked all those who have been playing the social shooter since launch to pay attention to the expected mass of new players that would join the experience over the holidays and to try and make sure that they were helped to see what the title has to offer.

It seems that the influx of new players has been even bigger than initially expected and apparently the Reddit community associated with the game has named the green gamers the KinderGuardians.

Now the official Twitter account of developer Bungie says that the newcomers should be defended in the wild and helped when they have a problem that a more experienced player can easily solve.

The reaction from the community has been mixed, with some gamers saying that they are eager to deal with the noobs and to make sure that they stay connected to Destiny in the long term.

Others believe that the learning process needs to involve some hardship and believe that new players should discover on their own how to use the core game mechanics.

In their final update of the year, the developers at Bungie have said that Destiny has been played by more than 12.5 million people since it was launched and that more than 25 million Guardians have been created.

House of Wolves is the next expansion for the social shooter

At the moment, most gamers are still trying to level up and to get the gear they need to deal with the late game Crota’s End raid, but there are already members of the community who are eagerly waiting to hear more about the next expansion for the title.

It is called House of Wolves and will be launched on all platforms during the summer of 2015, but so far Bungie has not offered any official details on the story it wants to tell or the mechanics it will add.

Players have already discovered that a range of new items will be introduced and a new major raid will also come to Destiny, which will probably be designed to test the skills of even the most capable players.

A sequel is at the moment in the initial planning stages at Bungie.
