Gamers can also get access to some solid armor

The Iron Banner Player versus Player event is at the moment live in Destiny and gamers who have not taken part yet might do well to at least consider throwing their virtual hat in the ring in order to get access to some of the rewards that the developers are introducing this time around.

Lord Saladin is back in the Tower and all those who want to take part need to check in with him before jumping into battle in order to try and earn access to nine weapons and more armor that can improve the power of any character.

The Anomaly, Asylum and The Burning Shrine are the maps that are coming to the playlist for Iron Banner.

The list of new weapons, compiled by a player on the forums, includes: Timur's Lash – hand cannon, Efrideet's Spear – sniper rifle, Felwinter's Lie – shotgun, Gheleon's Demise – scout rifle, Skorri's Revenge – pulse rifle, Jolder's Hammer – machine gun, Perun's Fire – fusion rifle, Silimar's Wrath – auto rifle, and Radegast's Fury – Rocket Launcher.

There are also high level armor pieces that can be earned by playing Iron Banner.

The event is running until January 19, and then Saladin will leave the game for a while and Bungie will collect data from the community in order to improve future installments of it.

Destiny is already getting ready to reveal another expansion

The development team might not be ready to offer any details on the new expansion for Destiny, apart from the name House of Wolves, but a leak is saying that fans can expect to get about the same amount of content that was introduced on December 9 via The Dark Below.

Basically, a new major raid is coming, for those who have bested Crota’s End already, and there are strikes, weapons and armor that gamers can use on their Guardians.

A bigger piece of content for the social shooter is being planned for later in the year and the leaked information suggests that big environments will be added and that gamers will be able to experience a range of new missions.

Until then, the Bungie team will probably introduce more balance hotfixes and maybe even entirely new events.
