The development team at Bungie is ready to kick-off 2015 with a bang, and their first major announcement is that they are planning to add a new Hard mode to the Crota’s End raid which was introduced to Destiny via The Dark Below, designed to make sure that players can no longer exploit game weaknesses to take down the powerful boss.

The official weekly update from the company states that, at the moment, the changes are still being tested and a clear launch date will be announced later.

Bungie explains, “We’re not going to spoil any hard mode surprises here. You’ll need to learn a new trick or two, but given your past performances, we’re pretty sure plenty of you will find a way to come out on top and earn some shiny new trophies to take with you on your next adventure.”

The studio also says that Crota’s End has been completed more than 1 million times, which shows that the community is finding it a little too easy to get through it, and that’s why it needs a Hard mode.

Meanwhile, the team is also working on a new patch, which is designed to be launched on January 13 on all platforms.

There are a lot of changes set to be introduced, some of them linked to Crota’s End and others focused on the Crucible, Asylum, The Anomaly and Burning Shrine maps.

A full list of the changes revealed so far for the January 13 Destiny patch can be seen at the end of this article, and the development team says that more details will be offered when it is actually delivered.

On the same date, the Iron Banner Player versus Player mode will make a return and will run until January 19 with a number of updated rewards.

Destiny is already preparing for its second expansion

Bungie might be working on weekly patches and on changes to the core mechanics, but most of the resources of the company are focused on creating the second major patch for the social shooter, which is called House of Wolves.

A leak from the studio claims that it will be launched in March and it will offer new content equal to that introduced with The Dark Below.

So far, Bungie has offered no clear information on the expansion and is focusing on improving the game experience for its 12.5 million strong community.
