As Kelly Rowland’s solo career is slowly but definitely moving into a different direction, having already split from both her manager and her longtime record label, fans have new hope to cling onto. Word in the industry has it that Kelly, Beyonce and Michelle Williams will be coming back together as Destiny’s Child for a new album, because they’re contractually bound to do so, as gossip blogger Perez Hilton informs.

Perez, as some of you may know, is not usually the most adequate source in terms of language for always making his posts biased. He is, though, the most well-connected blogger in the US, which makes it so that hardly anything occurs without him learning about it. As it happens, he has just learned that Destiny’s Child, the group that literally wrote the book on girl bands in the ‘90s, is on route to making music again.

Apparently, though, this will not be a reunion for the love of money, or for the love of music for that matter. Quite on the contrary, as the three former ex-mates are contractually bound to the record label to deliver another music album, which they will be doing in 2011, most likely, once Beyonce wraps up her tour and promotion for her own album, Perez says. “They still have another album they owe their label, Columbia Records, on their contract.” a well-placed insider tells Perez. As of now, neither Columbia nor a publicist for the girls has confirmed the rumor.

Come to think of it, fans opine on dedicated forums, this could be the best thing that might happen to Kelly and Michelle. Although both are just as talented as Beyonce is, they have had a harder time breaking onto the market, despite repeated efforts from both. Kelly, for instance, ended her contract with Columbia precisely on account of the fact that she was “no longer commercially viable,” as reports in the media said a short while back – which, in other words, means she was fired.

Of course, a Destiny’s Child reunion is just wishful thinking at this point, other music-oriented publications point out, but that does not mean that it is not likely to happen in the near future. If so, the first details should emerge any day now. For more on this, keep an eye on this space.
