The development team at Bungie is announcing that it will launch a new installment of the Bungie Bounty event for Destiny on February 4 and that the gamers the community will try to take out are members of the Invigorate Gaming team, which has been performing very well in the social shooter during the last few months.

On Wednesday, February 4, gamers who own the PlayStation 4 version of the title will need to be present between 7 and 9 PM Pacific Time in order to take part in the event, which will be played using the Control mode.

Invigorate Gaming features capable Destiny players and that might introduce some nice twists to the traditional mechanics of Bungie Bounty.

The announcement on the official site says, “They've carved World First status from every Raid boss that we've brought to life. Atheon? Check. Crota? Check. Sometimes on Normal. Sometimes on Hard. They hunt the big game and they take 'em down. You could say that this is a reverse Bungie Bounty, because now they're going to hunt you.”

The list of those who need to be hunted down includes: LtJohn5, Luminosity48, Ewoktapus, iiskampii, Luckycharms343, and DeeJ_BNG.

The reward for those who manage to kill their targets in the established timeframe is a special emblem.

Those who do not wish to take part can watch the action on Twitch.

Events and expansions are crucial for Destiny’s future

Destiny has managed to attract a solid number of players since it was launched, with more than 12 million units sold before Christmas on all platforms.

In order to keep the community engaged in the long term, the developers have been delivering a constant stream of events, including Iron Banner, weekly activities and Bungie Bounty.

They serve to keep the hardcore players engaged even if they no longer have any new content to explore in Destiny.

At the same time, the studio is working on an entirely new expansion, which is set to be delivered during March, according to one leak.

It will feature about the same amount of new content as The Dark Below and will be called House of Wolves.

Bungie is also working on a bigger content drop, planned for summer, which will introduce more environments to explore and is apparently also set to make some big changes to core mechanics.

Until then, a fix is planned for the heavy ammo Destiny issue before the end of February.
