Bungie has revealed that Destiny, its upcoming multiplayer-only first-person shooter, will delight new gamers but also veterans who played the studio's Halo titles, in all sorts of ways, from new modes to surprises and more.

Bungie made a name for itself by forging the Halo franchise on the original Xbox and Xbox 360. The studio has since departed from under Microsoft's wing and has partnered with Activision for the ambitious Destiny project, a persistent online game with all sorts of multiplayer shooter moments.

The game will make its debut this September, and the studio has started answering plenty of questions from fans about the new shooter experience and how it will feel for new players and Halo veterans.

First up, the studio has emphasized on its website that Destiny is a new vision from Bungie and that it's designed to capture the hearts and minds of as many players as possible, not just Halo veterans.

"Destiny is a totally new vision for Bungie. New story. New setting. New heroes. New ways to play and discover other players. For us, it’s been a next-gen exploration in every sense," the studio said about the new title.

"There are those who loved Halo that have tried Destiny and described it as 'coming home.' We’re glad to hear that, even though we still have plans to surprise them. The thing for you to remember is that you don’t have to grow up in a nice place to enjoy it once you move there."

What's more, it said that fans of the Firefight encounters in Halo will be treated to a similar experience in Destiny, in the form of Strike missions, which have already been detailed in a recent video by the studio.

"We hope you’ll come to find that Destiny isn’t exactly like anything we’ve created for you to play in the past. When you talk about Firefight, you’re probably enjoying memories of battling wave after wave of hostile aliens with your friends."

"We’ve got that in Destiny, but we wrapped some story around it. We also parked a nasty boss at the end of that stretch of bad road, and it will be defending a honey pot of loot. The act of taking that boss down will be its own reward, but it will not be the only reward. We call this experience a Strike."

Destiny is set to receive a beta in July, ahead of its launch on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in September.
