The development team at Bungie is delivering a new video for its upcoming destiny video game, which allows fans of the title to take a look at the Venus locations that they will be able to explore once the title is finally launches.

The team states, "Venus was once the site of a great discovery – a paradise. Now, it is a monument to all that we have lost. Defeat our enemies. Explore the ancient ruins of our solar system. Become Legend."

Bungie also encourages players who have not yet pre-ordered the title to do so in order to get access to special weapons and items and a special emblem for their characters.

Venus has not been mentioned a lot during the promotional efforts for the new game, and the footage shows some interesting alien landscapes and hints at different gameplay challenges that will be offered on Earth, on the Moon or on Mars.

The four planets that make up the world of Destiny are the biggest locations that the development team has ever created, and each of them will have its own personality and a range of enemies that players can battle.

Some fans have complained that the universe will be too small but the studio claims that the variety of activities offered is more important than the actual physical size.

Destiny is a first-person shooter at its core but plenty of mechanics are inspired by both role-playing and by MMO experiences.

An alpha and beta for the title have already been offered, and Bungie says that it has learned a lot from them and has applied player feedback to the experience, which means that already created characters cannot be transferred to the full release.

Destiny will be offered on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

A PC version has also been rumored but it's unclear whether Bungie actually plans to launch it or is satisfied with the presence on home consoles.

The PlayStation device will get access to exclusive content for Destiny which will only be offered to the entire community after about one year, but so far only one map has been revealed.

The company has also said that it is already working on the first downloadable content pack for the shooter, called The Dark Below, which will be offered before the end of the year and will be completely integrated with the rest of the experience.
