Video game developer Bungie is announcing that it has now completed all the work on the new update for Destiny, labeled 1.1.2, although at the moment it is not yet ready to share an official launch date with the community.

The most recent Weekly Update is designed to offer information on the way the coming patch will tweak the Player versus Player experience delivered by the social shooter, with a focus on the role that ammunition plays.

Kevin Yanes, the designer who works on the Crucible side of the title, explains that his team aims to make special ammo a requirement for PvP success, design a bigger role for heavy ammo, and improve the balance of the entire experience.

The tweaks that will be part of update 1.1.2 for Destiny are based on the feedback gamers have been offering over the past seven months.

Yanes explains that "Creating a new system to manage ammo drops will enable us to adjust the Crucible experience without altering other activities in your Director. We believe that making ammo more scarce and important will provide players with more choices and more memorable encounters in Crucible."

Special and heavy ammo will be more important in Destiny's Crucible

Special ammo will appear less frequently and gamers will need to spend more time to get it, but the drop radius has been extended for teammates.

For heavy ammo, the changes are designed to encourage players to get the resources and use them as soon as they are available, with more effects used to signal that they are being delivered.

Bungie says that it plans to deliver many more details about the changes made to the Player versus Player of Destiny in the patch notes, which will be revealed very soon.

Update 1.1.2 for the shooter is supposed to arrive before the end of the month.

It will also make modifications to other game elements ranging from the Vault to the overall balance of weapons and the accessibility of the title.

Once the update is deployed, Bungie will shift its resources to the House of Wolves expansion, which is set to be introduced during the second financial quarter.

The team has offered limited details on it, but it will introduce about the same amount of content as The Dark Below, with a focus on new items and weapons for the upgraded Guardians.
