Gamers can choose to tweak their game experience

The new update for Destiny is supposed to be out in a few weeks, but rather than deliver a full list of changes closer to launch, the development team at Bungie is aiming to offer a look at the new features it plans to include gradually, making sure that players have plenty of details about the way the social shooter will be modified.

In the Weekly Update, the studio is ready to explain how it will change both audio and video settings to allow gamers to have more control over their experience.

When it comes to sound design, the developers are introducing a new Chat Volume, which will make it easier for gamers to hear and talk to teammates when cooperation is required, and Destiny will also allow players to use Game Volume to turn all the sounds in the title down or up with one move.

When 1.1.2 launches, gamers can also choose to turn off the music entirely and to listen to their own tracks while they are playing the shooter.

When it comes to the video department and the graphics of Destiny, Bungie has decided to introduce full support for those who are colorblind and might have trouble playing with the normal settings.

Brad Fish, the user interface engineering lead, says that the company will use colors in new ways and will also increase contrast to make it easy for those with problems to see the most important cues in the world of the game.

Nate Hawbaker, technical artist, states that "We hope the new modes enable more players to make quick decisions about the elements in the game that are most important. Since there is no such thing as a blue ammo drop, prioritizing the difference in shades was easier."

Destiny update 1.1.2 does not have a launch date yet

Bungie is not saying when it plans to deliver the new update for its social shooter, but given the way the company has worked on previous patches, it will probably arrive in late April.

The company is also working to improve the balance of the weapons and might make other changes to the core mechanics.

After update 1.1.2 is out, Bungie will shift its resources to the completion of the House of Wolves expansion, expected during the second financial quarter of the year, which will introduce a new end-game raid, more strikes and extra weapons and items for Guardians.
