Activision and Bungie have just rolled out the launch trailer for their upcoming The Dark Below expansion for Destiny, which drops next week and is set to introduce an array of new things to the multiplayer-only first-person shooter, from quests and competitive arenas to a new raid and a strike.

Destiny launched back in September and had been anticipated by millions of fans from around the world after a solid marketing campaign run by Bungie and Activision. The title, however, disappointed when it fell into the hands of actual players, as many were unimpressed with the story and got tired of the repetitive gameplay.

Since then, developer Bungie has tried to fix things via multiplayer updates, not to mention in-game events that got quite a few people back into Destiny.

The Dark Below has a launch trailer

Next week, the first major expansion, The Dark Below, is set to debut for the multiplayer shooter and now a launch trailer has just been rolled out by the studio. As you can see in the video below, the footage encompasses the many new things that will arrive for the game via the DLC.

In case you forgot, Bungie has also updated the official page of the expansion with fresh details and screenshots that highlight some of the new elements coming to Destiny, from the new weapons and quests to the maps for the Crucible competitive multiplayer or the new Strike and the imposing raid.

"Expand your Destiny adventure with a wealth of weapons, armor, and gear earned in new story quests and missions, three new competitive multiplayer arenas, and a new Strike and Raid. Beneath the surface of the Moon, a long-forgotten enemy stirs. Survive the true depths of the Hellmouth, and stop its dark army from invading Earth," the studio explains.

Quite a lot of different things are included

The story missions are offered by a new NPC character named Eris, which tasks players with stopping the Hive enemy faction from resurrecting one of their gods, in the form of Crota. The new missions offer plenty of great rewards, which can then be used to complete the new strike, which focuses on a new Hive enemy called the Omnigul.

Of course, the main addition to the game is going to be the new six-man raid that sees players team up to take down Crota in a sprawling battle that requires the best from them and their gear.
