Update 1.2.0 changes are going live next week

The development team at Bungie is announcing that it is planning to deliver two more updates for Destiny before the new House of Wolves is launched on May 19, both of them designed to introduce a range of changes to the game.

Update 1.2.0 has been deployed to the local copies of the game earlier in the week, after a short downtime, but the changes it introduces to the social shooter have not been activated by the team.

The new Weekly Update explains that on Tuesday, May 12, around 10 AM Pacific Standard Time, final preparations and world changes will be made.

The wording is a little weird, but that probably means gamers will see the changes of update 1.2.0 for Destiny become active. This means they will have one week to get accustomed to the new balance of the game before House of Wolves arrives.

Update 1.2.0.1 for Destiny is planned to be deployed on Tuesday, May 19, around 10 AM PST and will actually deliver the House of Wolves content and will activate it for players who have bought it.

At the moment, the development team is not ready to offer any notes and it seems that they will only be offered when the two new patches are live.

The expansion was built around requests from the player community, and that means the main priority for Bungie is to introduce more gameplay for veteran players of the social shooter.

Trials of Osiris is a team-based Player versus Player mode in which players will have to get as many wins as possible in order to get access to special rewards.

Prison of Elders is a complex take on a horde mode, which is designed to challenge even the best-equipped Guardians, and comes complete with its own set of prizes.

Bungie also says that it will make a series of tweaks to other Crucible elements and that the game will get a range of new weapons and items for players to use.

One thing that House of Wolves will not include is a new raid, but one is in development as we speak and might be introduced for free later in the year.

A new expansion for Destiny is rumored to be in development and set to arrive later in 2015.
