Destiny update 1.0.1, the day-one patch for the recently-released game, has just received an official set of details from developer Bungie, confirming the many tweaks that've been added to the multiplayer shooter in terms of classes, abilities, weapons, achievements, and more.

Destiny launches officially today, September 9, around the world and millions of PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One owners have been eagerly awaiting the online first-person shooter ever since this summer's open beta stage.

The day-one update is already available for download

Yesterday, it was confirmed that the day-one patch for Destiny was already available for download, even before the actual servers for the game went live.

Now, the day-one update has received its actual changelog from Bungie, with the studio detailing it on the official blog, while confirming that it's just the first of many patches that will be rolled out for the new game.

"Patch 1.0.1 won't be the last changes to Destiny. Our goal is to constantly improve the Live game. The game we hope is competing for your free time. Work is already underway on upcoming patches. Some will contain new content, some will contain the next round of improvements, and some will undoubtedly react to issues that you - the playerbase - will uncover in the coming weeks," the studio explains.

Lots of different tweaks are included

This first patch contains changes relating to weapons, class builds, class talents, gameplay activities, achievements, progression, talents, game stability, and the user interface, according to the developer.

The subclasses have been adjusted in terms of order and the importance of stats like Intellect, Discipline, Strength, or Agility has been tweaked. Various subclasses, like the Titan's Striker or Defender, the Hunter's Gunslinger or Bladedaner, or the Warlock's Voidwalker and Sunsinger have also been balanced in terms of abilities.

Weapons have lots of balance changes

A lot of different weapons have been tweaked by the first Destiny patch, starting with some basic changes like the removal of the weapon speed penalties from extended sprinting, as well as a limit of 999 rounds to the inventory and fixes for several weapons that were displaying incorrect magazine sizes.

Actual weapons like Assault Rifles, Scout Rifles, or Shotguns have been nerfed slightly, while others like Pulse Rifles, Hand Cannons, or Fusion Rifles have been improved.

The Player-versus-Player mode has also been tweaked, with Crucible matches giving more marks to both winners and losers, as well as more XP and Glimmer currency.

The new patch is already available for download right now across the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.
