14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Bungie is telling all gamers who might be left with unredeemed bounties related to the Iron Banner event that they can easily turn them in to a character called Xander 99-40 at the bounty board in order to get their rewards.
The information comes from a newly posted article in the Help section of the official site, which is designed to make sure that all players understand that they can use all the Iron Banner bounties even if the game mode itself is at the moment not available.
The official text states, “If you have special event bounties, such as Iron Banner, to turn in but the event is over, you can still turn those bounties in to Xander 99-40 at the bounty board.”
The Iron Banner is a Player versus Player mode which is only available for about a week before Bungie takes it offline in order to tweak the core mechanics and to make sure that the balance is as close to perfect as possible.
It gives gamers a way to challenge friends and rivals and to see how effective their weapons and equipment are.
It is also a very good way for players to get access to a range of high-level equipment they will need in order to complete the Crota’s End raid.
For now, the development team at Bungie has not said when it is planning to re-introduce Iron Banner to Destiny.
Many players and a coming expansion
Just before the Christmas period, which in itself has brought a range of new players to the social shooter, Bungie said that more than 12.5 million gamers had played the title at least once and more than double the number of Guardians were created.
At the moment, the focus of the developers is on keeping this mass of players engaged with the various weekly activities and special events.
Work on a new expansion, called House of Wolves, is already underway and all platforms should get access to it at some point in the summer of 2015.
Bungie has also offered a number of limited details about a full sequel, which will probably only be offered in 2016 or later.
