We already know the content that's set to be included in the House of Wolves expansion for Destiny, and for those who might be unwilling to read all the details of the new modes and content, the development team at Bungie has created a highlights video that shows the biggest new additions.

The developers state, "Expand your Destiny adventure with a wealth of weapons, armor, and gear to earn in new story missions, three new competitive multiplayer maps, and a new cooperative Strike."

House of Wolves for Destiny is set to be introduced on May 19 on all platforms.

Maybe the biggest features added in the expansion is the Trials of Osiris competitive mode, which will see gamers join a team and then try to get as many victories in an elimination mode.

Those who managed to perform well will be able to get access to a set of exclusive item rewards that will allow them to improve the performance of their Guardians.

Bungie has recently also talked about The Prison of the Elders, an arena activity that has the core mechanics of a horde mode, with gamers having to defend themselves against waves of powerful enemies.

House of Wolves will also include a story element centered on the fight against the Fallen.

Destiny will activate 1.2.0 changes before the expansion arrives

Bungie says that it will activate the tweaks introduced in the already deployed update 1.2.0 for Destiny on May 12, when a brief downtime period is planned.

No patch notes have been offered to the fan base so far. On May 19 a new patch, labeled 1.2.0.1, will be launched for the social shooter in order to add all the House of Wolves content.

When the expansion is live a range of other changes will be made to the game, focusing on the Crucible activities.

The one thing that House of Wolves will not include is a new end-game raid, although the development team says that one is in development, with feedback from the community taken into account.

Apparently there are plans to introduce it before the end of the year.

In 2015, Destiny is also set to get another expansion, according to rumors, which will be called The Taken King.
