Bungie confirms that a brand new hotfix for Destiny is now available for download worldwide across the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms, which makes several changes to the game, including a lowering of damage for automatic rifles, an increase for the scout rifles, and plenty of other tweaks.

After years of hype and anticipation, Destiny finally launched last month across different platforms, delivering its multiplayer-only first-person shooter to millions of fans from around the world. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations all that much, with many complaining about the poor story, the repetitive gameplay, and other such things.

Bungie has tried to improve the game in different ways by reacting to the feedback and launching different updates.

Hotfix 1.0.2.2 is now available

The latest patch arrives in the form of hotfix 1.0.2.2, according to the official website, which is already live for some owners of the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms. Quite a lot of different tweaks for the game are included in the update, from balance tweaks to certain weapons to bug fixes relating to classes like the Titan or Warlock, not to mention activities like the Vault of Glass raid.

"This hotfix includes a number of changes to weapon balance across archetypes (e.g., lowering Auto Rifle effectiveness and increasing Scout Rifle damage output), specific weapons (Vex Mythoclast and Pocket Infinity) and includes a number of fixes to issues with the Templar encounter in the Vault of Glass."

Weapons have received some big changes

First up, when it comes to weapons, the automatic rifles have received a decrease in terms of base damage of 2%, while their precision damage multiplier and their stability have been lowered by varying degrees, depending on their actual attributes.

To make up for this nerf, Bungie has drastically increased the potential of the scout rifles, which now do an extra 6% damage overall and up to 25% more damage depending on the enemies it encounters. Target acquisition should happen much faster and the recoil has been tuned.

Shotguns have also received some changes, in order to lower their damage at longer ranges, while hand cannons should be more accurate when firing while in the air.

Some exotic weapons, like the Vex Mythoclast and Pocket Infinity, have been tweaked, while perks like metal detector and lightweight should work as intended.

Quite a few other tweaks are included in the latest Destiny hotfix, so check out the full changelog below, by clicking the Show Changelog button.

The new patch is already available for download and should be transferred automatically the next time you start the game.
