Video game developer Bungie says that it is at the moment trying to make sure that as many players as possible remain engaged with the Player versus Player modes in Destiny in order to make sure that the game modes remain attractive for all members of the community.

In the most recent Weekly Update, the studio explains that, since the House of Wolves expansion was launched, more gamers than usual have abandoned matches when they believed the opposition was superior.

Bungie adds, "That tactic could earn you a restriction from future Trials of Osiris events. Please stick it out and fight – even if you know you’re about to be visited by tourists from the Lighthouse."

Gamers are also encouraged to use the in-game tools to report cheating behavior because a report that can be linked to game data is more useful to the developers than a forum-based indictment.

So far, Bungie has not said how many players it has punished for their actions in Destiny or whether it plans to tweak some of the core mechanics in order to discourage negative behavior.

A new Trials of Osiris game mode will be launched at 10 AM on Friday, June 5, and the development team is not yet ready to talk about the map on which gamers will be able to face each other.

Until then, gamers can study two new heatmaps that give clues about the way the community has approached the experience.

The Taken King is confirmed as the new expansion for Destiny

Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders are at the moment keeping the community occupied as players are trying to get the new rewards and improve the capabilities of their Guardians.

A leak linked to a Red Bull promotion has all but confirmed that the new expansion for Destiny is called The Taken King.

Bungie has not talked about it, but an official announcement will probably take place in the summer, with the new content set to be introduced on all platforms before the end of the year.

The Taken King will introduce the first new environments that gamers have seen since the game was first launched, and Bungie might also make a number of tweaks to the core mechanics.
