The team does not say how many players are affected

Despite the fact that both Sony and Microsoft are saying that the effects of the attacks which targeted the Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network services during the Christmas period have been eliminated, the team at Bungie says that some Destiny gamers are still experiencing problems and that it is actively working to make sure they are dealt with as fast as possible.

The official Twitter account explains that the number of solid connections is increasing and asks all those who cannot log in to continue trying and to submit more detailed reports if they are unable to get into the title.

The official help page adds, “We hear you. We truly appreciate the work some of you have put into troubleshooting so you can enjoy Destiny. For those of you that still can’t play, or are getting frequently disconnected, we are working very hard to investigate why that might be happening.”

Bungie is not saying how many of its fans are affected at the moment.

At the same time, the studio says that a clear ETA for when the entire community will be able to play normally cannot be provided.

Until all the problems are dealt with, the company is also extending the period during which Xur is present.

Destiny’s gameplay requires solid connections

The new title from Bungie has been designed as a social shooter, which means that gamers need to be connected to an online infrastructure so that they can interact with other players and create groups to take on the toughest challenges.

If both the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live services are down, the game becomes a lesser experience, which means the development team has an extra incentive to work with both Sony and Microsoft to solve problems as quickly as possible.

At the moment, Bungie is working on a second major expansion for Destiny, called House of Wolves, which is set to be offered on all platforms in the middle of 2015, and until then gamers can look forward to more updates, special events, and regular appearances from Iron Banner.
