Although in the last time, Firefox has been the subject of press agencies because of the security breaches discovered by Secunia, this thing hasn't affected the browser's credibility.

FireFox is still Internet Explorer's main competitor and although Microsoft's browser controls 80% of the market, by the end of the year this situation might change.

According to data published by WebSideStory http://www.websidestory.com/, a company dealing with Internet studies and analyzes, in this moment, 6.5% of the Americans riding the browsing Firefox and only 88.8% of them are sailing the Internet Explorer boat.

If FireFox maintains its current 1% growing rate each month, by the end of the year, over 10% of the Internet surfers will visit sites with the browser created by a 19 year old.

According to WebSideStory, Firefox's most active supporters are the Germans, 22% of them using Mozilla's broser. The least impressed are the Japanese, only 3% of them deciding to switch to Firefox or to another browser.

FireFox has already passed the 50 million download milestone, but this figure might be influenced by users downloading the browser on different computers.
