Patriot reveals the Memory For Ultrabook SODIMM modules

Patriot Memory has a launch event of sort today, which introduces a wireless External HDD and a product line that we will talk about right now: the Memory For (poorly selling) Ultrabook SODIMM.

The gist of the press release is that the random access memory is shaped like very small modules (204-Pin Dual In-Line) with an operating voltage of 1.35 V. They can still run in 1.5V systems though.

At any rate, with capacities of 4 GB or 8 GB, they have frequencies of 1,333 MHz or 1,600 MHz and should work fine even at low temperatures.

The only trait of the newcomers that Patriot Memory neglected to mention is the CAS latency (timings).

Regardless, these are the sort of PC components that will provide ultrabooks with those 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM everyone keeps promising. Laptop makers should already be allowed to place orders. The price was left out, but it isn't too important since consumers will never have the option of buying these standalone.
