Intel to release Celeron G540, Celeron G530 and Celeron G440 processors starting at $37

By the end of the third quarter of this year, Intel is expected to release three new entry-level Sandy Bridge processors in the company's budget-friendly Celeron line, with prices starting at a rather low $37 US.

These new chips will be known as the Celeron G540, Celeron G530 and Celeron G440, and all were detailed in the first half of May, but now we have also managed to find out their retail prices.

These will start at a rather low $37 US for the Celeron G440, while the G530 and G540 have an MSRP of $42 and $52, respectively.

The latter two are also the highest performing Intel Celeron CPUs. Both of these sport similar specifications and include two processing core that are clocked at 2.5GHz and 2.4GHz, respectively, 1MB of Level 3 cache memory, and have a TDP of 65W.

Just like the rest of the Sandy Bridge processors, these too feature an integrated GPU with an 850MHz stock frequency that can reach up to 1GHz in Turbo mode.

The same graphics Turbo frequency can also be achieved by Intel's third Celeron processor, the G440, but this time the base GPU frequency has been set 200MHz lower, at 650MHz.

Unlike the two older models, the G440 also comes with a single processing core, that is clocked at 1.6GHz, as well as with just 1MB of Level 3 cache memory, but it sports a lower TDP that is rated at 35W.

All three Celeron CPUs will pack a reduced feature set, which won't certainly include any of Intel's Turbo Boost, Hyper Threading and Quick Sync technologies or the AVX and AES-NI instruction sets.

The exact launch date of these chips is still not known, but they all should arrive until the end of Q3 2011. (via VR-Zone)
