The whole plot of the latest movie starring Denzel Washington isn't that original, but the title does promise a lot of action. The trailer shows off the classic Washington cool, reminiscent from “Training Day,” except this time he's playing the role of a black ops commando.

The two-minute clip offers the premise for the movie: Washington's character has faked his own death for a quiet life in Boston but is forced out of his retirement when he rescues a girl from Russian gangsters who are now out for his head.

The girl is played by Chloe Moretz, and the movie plot is said to be based on an `80s television series which bore the same title, “The Equalizer.” Denzel's character is named McCall and he finds that his desire for justice is reawakened by his clash with the Russian gangsters.

Right now, the movie looks like it has the potential to become a franchise, as McCall's thirst for justice could see him paired up against several other baddies. The only hindrance would be Denzel's age. Let's face it, the actor isn't getting any younger, and future action roles are going to become increasingly difficult and decreasingly credible.

The movie sees Washington reunite with “Training Day” director Antoine Fuqua. Fans will be able to catch this film in cinemas starting September 26 this year.
