In what is probably a rather unlikely pairing, Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds will be partners for life and death in “Safe House.” Universal Pictures has just released the first trailer for the film.

Denzel plays a CIA agent turned rogue. He is a threat to the agency because, presumably, he's taken a lot of secrets with him when he defected and might use them to serve his purposes.

Reynolds is a rookie who can't ever get a lucky break and is always complaining about it. He gets his big chance when he's asked to guard the defector in a CIA safe house.

When the house is attacked, it becomes clear that a mole might have invited the “guests” in, precisely with the purpose of having the two killed.

What follows is an unlikely alliance in a joint effort to trace the events back to the mole.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, “Safe House” is out in theaters on February 10, 2012. By the looks of the trailer, it's a must-see.
