Kyle Dyer, the Denver anchorwoman who was bit in the face by a dog during a live interview, is still recuperating from the injuries sustained. She's also prepping for a second reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.

The incident occurred during a live interview, in which Dyer was speaking to the firefighter who had rescued the Dogo Argentino Max one day before from certain death in a frozen lake.

Max's owner was also on set, as the video below will show.

While speaking to them, Dyer kept petting Max and moving her face closer to his. At the end of the interview, she tried to kiss him on the nose or head, which is when he bit her in the face.

Over the weekend, Dyer was on Facebook posting an update for all those praying for her.

She's been under the knife once and had 70 stitches put in to repair the damage done by Max. She still can't speak and is now getting ready for another intervention.

Dyer is communicating with the others with the help of an iPad. However, she is expected to make a full recovery and even to return to work in a few weeks' time.

“I am unable to talk because my mouth is stitched shut to allow for the skin graft to take and get the blood circulating in my lips again,” she writes.

“I return to the doctor this...week and expect another procedure in the next few weeks,” Dyer further says.

In the same Facebook blog, Dyer thanks her colleagues at the Denver TV station and, of course, to all her viewers who have been praying for her – and who still are.

In the meantime, a heated debate on whether Dyer or the Max was to blame for what happened still continues online, with most voices agreeing that she should have never gotten her face so close to an animal who had been through a very traumatic experience only a day before.
