Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Demon's Souls turned out to be the Devil May Cry 3 of this year, but only with a different setup. Of course, the only thing that makes the comparison viable is the game's difficulty and the amount of punishment it applies to players. While it's true that, with titles becoming a casual trend, a difficult one is hard to find these days, Demon's Souls went a little bit overboard when it came to making things challenging. However, this is the holiday season, so even the world of Boletaria has decided that it's acceptable to make a gift to DS pain-lovers everywhere and give them a break.

As such, Atlus has decided to celebrate the Winter Solstice by switching the game to "Pure White World Tendency." These tendencies, be they black or white, offer special events and alter the game world in different ways.

The strength of enemy creatures, drop rates on certain items, as well as other things are at the mercy of these "color trends," and, while it wasn't time for White to come in, just like it happened on Halloween, when Atlus forced Pure Black, the publisher has decided that a little something special is in order to work our sentimental side.

The Pure White World Tendency has already started and it will end on next Monday, December 28, at 12 Pacific Time. So, while the special offer has an expiration date, that shouldn't dim your enthusiasm.

A lot of things will be brought to the game for this short amount of time, like several new non-player characters that otherwise wouldn't exist, or access to special areas of the map. Even more, all your trophy and glory hunters should learn that there are several PlayStation Trophies that can't even be obtained outside of this Pure White World Tendency, so make sure to sped more time playing than you do singing carols.
