A demo version of Ms. PAC-MAN is currently available for iPod users that are still undecided whether the game is worth buying or not. This is only the first in a long line of game trial versions that are expected to become a habit among iPod game publishers from now on.

More than 40 percent of mobile gamers declare that they would like to be able to make two or three game downloads every week in order to decide whether the purchase is really worth it. Taking this into account, Namco Networks intends to make a habit among users the testing of the game before buying it.

For now, iTunes offers only Ms. PAC-MAN in a trial version, but other such initiatives are expected to become more frequent. The demo version of the game ends when the player clears the first level, or dies 3-5 times, without any time limit being set.

Ms. Pac-Man can be commanded around the course just as in the classic arcade version of the game. The full game download will bring the iPod user four maze designs and 256 levels to win. There are also three game plays available and the game's sounds are similar to those of an arcade gaming machine. Apart from the original Pac-Man game, this one holds few differences, mostly in color.

Ms. PAC-MAN was first released more than 25 years ago as an arcade game. It rapidly became popular and was recently adapted for mobile phone playing. In February 2007, Namco chose Apple as a partner in order to release a Ms. PAC-MAN game version for the iPod.
