Demi Moore takes on Kim Kardashian on Twitter, hints she should be more responsible about the message she sends out with her tweets

Two of the most avid celebrity Twitter users, Demi Moore and Kim Kardashian, have recently got into a more or less heated exchange of words on the same channel, after Moore took the time out to point to Kim that she was glorifying a culture of “slaves.” While the socialite later backed down graciously, the actress pointed that all she wanted to do was to encourage thinking and communication, as the San Francisco Chronicle points out.

On Sunday, Kim Kardashian attended a charity function with friends Selena Williams, La La Vasquez and Kelly Rowland. True to tradition, a few hours later, Kim uploaded a picture of herself and her friends, with the caption, “Big pimpin w @SerenajWilliams @LaLaVazquez @Kelly_Rowland love u girls!” It was precisely the use of the word “pimpin” that got Demi a bit flushed and determined her to take to her Twitter to point out how wrong Kardashian was in using it.

First, she made sure Kim was using the word in the sense she (Demi) thought she was, to which the former replied, “Doesn’t everyone? LOL.” Demi clearly saw nothing to laugh about that, and continued to admonish the socialite and television personality on the same channel, tweeting that using the word means glorifying a culture that is nothing short of slavery. In response, Kim backed down, saying that the caption to the picture was actually referring to a Jay-Z track that goes by the same name.

“Moore assured fans she had nothing against Kardashian – just wanted to make ‘a point about how we have used a word and desensitized the real meaning.’ She added, ‘Clearly I stirred up a [expletive]storm, but 2 create change U have 2 be willing 2 take a risk and be willing 2 (sic) provoke thought & conversation.’ But the pair appeared to settle their differences by the end of the conversation, with Kardashian conceding Moore had made a ‘good point’ with her ‘tweets’,” the aforementioned publication says of the Twitter feud.

As expected, most of Kim Kardashian’s Twitter followers are siding with her on this one, saying she probably used the term that got Moore so upset with the meaning of “cool,” which is, as we all know, a far cry from its original meaning.
