Demi Moore has lost a lot of weight since word got out again that Ashton Kutcher cheated on her a few weeks ago – and she continues to drop the pounds as she's coping with the whole thing. A new report suggests the cry for help is also a cry for attention.

OK! Magazine points out that the star had always used her body for attention and this time it's no different – only that she's now ruining her health in trying to get people's pity, which would never be a good substitute for her husband's lost love.

These days, insiders say, Demi is surviving solely on cigarettes, energy drinks and the occasional sweet treat. She can't eat and hasn't had a proper meal since the scandal broke in the media.

At the same time, she's desperate to save her marriage: she knows she shouldn't even bother and that she should walk away from it, but she's so conflicted that she's hanging on to it for dear life.

“She’s feeling really abandoned and what she needs more than anything is to feel loved. But it seems the only form that love is taking right now is sympathy – so Demi is kind of courting that,” a pal says for the publication.

“The fact that she’s so skinny has everyone clamoring around her and that’s the only comfort she has right now,” adds the insider.

“Demi hasn’t sat down and had an actual meal since this whole thing started. She’ll make a salad, and try to eat it, but she’ll wind up having a few bites and then putting it back in the fridge,” the source further says.

“When she does eat, it’s some kind of sugary snack, like a cookie or something. Most of the time, she’s so sick to her stomach, the last thing she’s thinking about is food,” says the spy.

To save her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, they're going for couples therapy at the Kabbalah Center in LA but, so far, there has been no visible improvement.

If anything, Demi is losing even more weight, which is getting friends and family really worried, the same report argues.

As the photo attached to this article will confirm, Life & Style magazine is also going with the weight loss story for the cover, with one of the headlines saying that her and Bruce Willis' daughters “fear for her life.”
