14 DAY TRIAL // While reportedly planning her own comeback, Demi Moore may also be taking the time to help a friend in need, who also happens to be striving to get back into the spotlight and the public’s good graces: Renee Zellweger.
Renee has not been seen on a red carpet in a very long time, and sources close to the star tell Radar Online that she became completely unnerved and desperate when she heard some of the things said about her appearance after last year’s Oscar Awards.
Renee was one of the presenters at the 2013 ceremony and, just in case you missed it at the time, she grabbed many headlines for other reasons than her presenting duties, namely her apparently Botoxed face and the fact that she teetered so much fans at home assumed she was either drunk or on drugs.
Reports about her alleged love of Botox had been making the rounds until then as well, but she never appeared to have gotten so much as to be completely unable to move her face, which is what was happening at the Oscars.
The negativity her appearance generated online sent her into depression, but she was already feeling down because of her career, the insiders reveal. “Unless she pulls herself together, Renee’s acting future looks very uncertain. Renee is in deep therapy dealing with her anxiety about appearing on camera again after a string of embarrassing movie flops,” one tipster explains.
Thinking it would help her feel better about herself, Demi gave her her plastic surgeon’s phone number, another source reveals for the same media outlet. Moore was, until some time ago, considered one of the stars with the best surgical work done on both face and body, because it was all very subtle. According to many experts, that’s no longer the case.
However, what Renee really needs right now is a friend and not someone who helps her by telling her she needs surgery or Botox. She also needs a hit at the box office, but Demi can’t help her there.
“She’s still a complete workout addict and as skinny as she’s ever been so there are those body issues at play as well. Renee is grateful for Demi’s help and friendship, but what she really needs now is for people to stop talking about her appearance – and to go see her in a movie hit,” adds another pal.
