Demi Moore says her youthful looks at 47 are the result of good genes, not plastic surgery

Demi Moore turns 47 this year, in November, but even when she’s not wearing any makeup or is not lit specifically to hide any flaws she might have, she still looks better than most women half her age, it has been said. Once known as the queen of plastic surgery for the many interventions she is believed to have had to remove all ungraceful signs of old age, Moore is now vehemently denying ever going under the knife, as the Mirror can confirm.

Speaking to Marie Claire while in France recently and quoted by the British publication, the actress wants the world to know that she never had any surgical intervention for beautification purposes, no matter what the tabloid media claims. As per the star’s own words, the scalpel does not bring happiness – on the contrary, it makes it altogether impossible, because it represents nothing but a very short-lived illusion of youth, which leaves frustration in its stead once it’s gone.

Moore did not spend an estimated £200,000 in plastic surgery, including breast and face lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction and even the rare knee-rejuvenation surgery. “It’s completely false. I’ve never had it done. But I would never judge those who have. If it’s the best thing for them, then I don’t see a problem. I don’t like the idea of having an operation to hold up the ageing process – it’s a way to combat your neurosis. The scalpel won’t make you happy.” Moore reportedly told the publication, as cited by the Mirror.

Granted, not having surgery herself, the actress is not too quick to judge others for getting it and would not exclude the possibility it might happen in the future for her too. However, as of now, Moore is happy with growing old gracefully and not turning to a doctor’s help to hold on to her youthful looks for much longer than time and nature would have her. At least, that’s what she says. “That said, the day when I start crying when I look at myself in the mirror might be the day when I’m less adamant about not having it done. But for the moment I prefer to be a beautiful woman of my age than try desperately to look 30.” Demi explained.

On a final note, while Moore personally never confirmed the rumors of going under the knife for the impeccable looks she has today, speculation has never ceased to follow her around, especially in recent years. Dubbed in the tabloid media as the queen of plastic surgery, at the same time, Demi was also applauded for having the common sense of getting just the type of intervention she needed, thus avoiding looking “too plastic.”
