14 DAY TRIAL // Demi Lovato is single and ready to mingle again. Reports in the glossies and the blogosphere claim she's done with Wilmer Valderrama, while she's tweeting up a storm about heartbreak and how girls should never fall in love with the bad guy.
The Demi – Wilmer couple was an odd pairing from the start, voices online claim, especially since he was once also notoriously linked to Lindsay Lohan whom he reportedly “ruined.”
Even if that was the case, they still made it for several months – and even came together after a brief separation late last year, thus hinting they were a solid match.
According to E! Online, what did this once-happy couple in was the age gap that inevitably proved too much strain for the relationship to stand.
“On-the-DL couple Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have parted ways, a source confirms to E! News,” the e-zine writes.
“Lovato's rep has always been – and continues to be – mum on the subject, but we're hearing that the age gap (she's 19, he's 31) just proved uncrossable for the duo,” E! Says.
As if that wasn't enough to start a fire, just after the above report emerged online, Demi herself took to Twitter to vent – presumably after the breakup, if one is to judge by her cryptic tweets.
“Loyalty is EVERYTHING.. I'm thankful for my friends who stand by my side,” she first wrote, sending her fans into a frenzy of speculation on whether Wilmer cheated on her.
Shortly afterwards, Demi retweeted what one of her fans sent to her, a Marilyn Monroe quote.
“A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left,” she wrote.
“The smartest thing a woman can ever learn, is to never need a man,” Demi's last tweet at the time of writing reads.
Demi and Wilmer never publicly admitted to being more than just good friends but they were busted by paparazzi in late 2011, after spending the night together, kissing outside his home.
